Meet Nouveaux Xpress

Nouveaux Cajun Xpress started with four former members of the popular Cajun band Tout Les Soir. Butch Landry, Butch Golsan, John Ortis, and Clyde Thompson played music together for over fifteen years until Clyde decided to go a different direction with his music. They have performed Cajun style music in venues across the country and beyond. From the Biloxi Crawfish Festival in Biloxi, MS, to the Walker Cajunfest in Walker, MN. The Audubon Zoo Swamp Fest in New Orleans, to a Super Bowl/Mardi Gras cruise to the Bahamas.

They have played festivals, conventions, wedding receptions, company gatherings, from Louisiana to Texas, Florida to Thunder Bay Canada and many other places.

After recruiting versatile Cajun Accordion player Jesse Deroche, their first goal was to create a new kind of Cajun / Louisiana Music sound.  Although they bill themselves as a Cajun band, Nouveaux Cajun Xpress is much more than that. They perform many genres of music including Zydeco, Louisiana Swamp Pop, Blues, and even some old school Rock and Roll.  When Clyde decided to go his own way in 2019, the band did not miss a beat.  We hooked up with several excellent fiddle-playing friends to round out our Nouveaux Cajun sound!

Nouveaux Cajun Xpress has learned from many years of performing music that the most important ingredients in a successful band are making sure their crowd feels and enjoys the music, and the band itself loves playing the music that people appreciate and love to dance to. Don’t be surprised if during a performance, members of the audience are invited on stage to play Zydeco Scrub Board with the band.

We are very proud of our self-titled CD, Nouveaux Cajun Xpress. The CD demonstrates some of the variety of music and styles we love to play live in their performances.
